Metaphor: ReFantazio

Ordemos, Grudge's Fang

By
Jarrod Garripoli

One of the ways to encounter stronger than normal enemies in Metaphor: ReFantazio is through the game’s Bounty system. As you progress the game, you can go to recruitment centers to start these bounties, which will usually entail traveling to an optional dungeon to confront them. Once you’re in the final stages of the game, you can get a set of three different bounties, with one of them being Ordemos, the focus of this page.

Ordemos is a bounty you will have access to in the final stretch of the game.

Ordemos Location

At some point during the main story, after 9/26 on the in-game calendar, you will unlock a number of side quests and new bounties. Head on over to the recruitment center in any of the towns to find three bounties, one of which will be for Ordemos. You will find this creature in the Abandoned Path dungeon, which is located to the south of Altabury Heights. Note that despite having your flying runner, you will need to use the normal pathing to the dungeon here, which will take you a total of two in-game days, so plan accordingly.

Before setting off, make sure you head on over to the "Skyward Tavern" iconSkyward Tavern in Altabury to purchase the corresponding info from the "Informant" iconInformant there.

Abandoned Path Walkthrough

Enemy Level Weak Strength
Spekto of Fury 50 Ice, Light Slash/Pierce/Strike (Reflect), Fire (Absorb)
Papyrga 37 Pierce, Wind, Dark Ice/Lightning (Resist), Fire/Light (Reflect)
Leginovesp 53 Pierce, Wind Lightning (Reflect)
Rigopetia 59 Ice Fire (Resist), Wind (Block)

The Abandoned Path is another one of those forest dungeons, and it’s not particularly big. You will find the usual assortment of monsters here, including the Spekto of Fury, which will teleport around and explode when you start attacking it on the overworld. The Leginovesps are a slightly higher level and are similar to the various other enemies in the same family, so be wary of the ailment-inducing attacks. The last enemy in the table above is special, as your target will not be on the map at first. You will have four objective markers upon first setting foot in the forest, which are all Rigopetias.

(1 of 2) Your goal is to defeat three Rigopetias to spawn the bounty.

Defeating three of them will cause the Ordemos to come after you, so watch out for that when you do this. As for the items here, there really isn’t much of anything, but if you head to the northern end, you will find a Gold Beetle. When you feel you’re ready, defeat three Rigopetias and you will get into the fight with Ordemos.

Ordemos Boss Guide

You’ve fought a few of these giants already and not much has changed here. You won’t be able to use Lightning on it, since it reflects it, and it will be resistant to all three physical damage types. Outside of that, you can use whatever you want, but it is weak to Dark attacks, so having Heismay in this battle, in his preferred lineage, will help out a lot. If you wish to steal something from it, you’ll get a "Flamekiss Axe" iconFlamekiss Axe, a weapon for the "Berserker" iconBerserker classes.

Moving onto its attacks, it will always start the fight with "War Cry" iconWar Cry to debuff your party’s attack and defence. It also has access to "Kandeon" iconKandeon, so try not to have anyone weak to lightning. You will also see Hellbound, a physical attack, as well as "Fiery Strike" iconFiery Strike, a physical fire ability. By far, the most annoying skill you can be subjected to is Earsplitting Shriek, which can inflict Daze on everyone. You do not want this to happen, as Daze severely reduces a character’s hit rate, so you’ll have trouble hitting the boss here.

(1 of 6) Ordemos will be weak to Dark, so having Heismay along will help a lot.

At some point, the Ordemos will chain a few abilities together, starting with Soul Cry. This gives it two more Turn Icons, then it will do Breath of Battle and finally "Charge" iconCharge, before preparing itself for its following turn. If you cannot remove its buffs from Breath of Battle, make sure you defend on the turn after Charge. Removing the buffs will make sure the Ordemo’s next turn is wasted, but if you cannot do that, then you will see a very powerful "Slam Shatter" iconSlam Shatter. Even when defending, it will still do north of 200 damage to each character.

You can also minimize this damage by increasing your defence, should you have "Marakukaja" iconMarakukaja. Either way, make sure you heal after the attack, if needed, then continue your assault. When the Ordemos has been brought down, feel free to explore the rest of the forest, then leave via the entrance. Back in town, report your kill to the recruitment center to finish up the bounty.
