Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Statuary, Fine Art and Antaam - Part 1

By
Nathan Garvin

The Antaam have been bad enough for Treviso - occupying the town, cracking down brutally with the aid of collaborators, brewing poisons to undermine the resistance when force proves insufficient… but with their alliance with the Evanuris they gained access to the magic of the Venatori and the power of the blight, putting Treviso in such dire straits that even its art is no longer safe!

Page Breakdown

Starting Statuary, Fine Art and Antaam

This quest will become available after you complete either the main quest "On Deadly Wings" iconOn Deadly Wings or On Blighted Wings, after which, following some chatter, you’ll be tasked with recruiting a dragon slayer and a fade expert. You can ignore those if you want, however, as there are also new side quests available if you travel around. Visit The Cantori Diamond in Treviso and pick a Perfumed Note off a chest north of Viago and Teia to start this quest.

Search a crate north of Viago and Teia to find a letter, starting this quest.

Visit Mistress Trella’s Art Gallery

Your first step is to learn more about the situation from the horse’s mouth, as it were. An art curator, Mistress Trella, has appealed to the Crows for help, so head over to her gallery located to the south and west of the Heart and Central beacon.

When you arrive, Trella will speak to you through the door and state the obvious - the Antaam sealed her in and she’d prefer if you freed her. Attack the shoddy barricade to destroy it, then head inside the art gallery and talk to Trella to learn about the antics of the Antaam, who suddenly seem to have developed an appreciation of the fine arts. She’ll refer you to some “Market Master”, but before you go, talk to Trella, who now functions as a merchant - she sells a variety of decor and more notably two Mementos.

Art Gallery Secret Treasure

Before you leave the art gallery, head north past Mistress Trella and investigate the stone wall behind her, which looks oddly like a doorway. Sure enough, you can interact with it, and by fidgeting with the Lyrium Dagger you’ll dispel the stone in the middle of this odd wall, forming a proper doorway. Pass on through and loot the large chest within. You can also smash some barrels to find The Randy Dowager Quarterly: Vol. 3, which is worth some EXP and an entry in the codex.

(1 of 3) Destroy the barricade outside of the art gallery,

Talk to the Market Master

Leave Mistress Trella’s art gallery and head south, west, then north to and through the Grande Market. Talk to the Market Master and she’ll defer responsibility to you on account of her being too conspicuous, and ask her to snoop on her behalf, giving you three targets: one south, one southwest and another to the west. The westernmost one is what you want, and if you listen in a Concerned Merchant will mention the Antaam stealing art and stockpiling it in the Drowned District.

Find the Stolen Art in the Antaam Outpost

Make your way south to the southeasternmost part of the Drowned District, where the Antaam have set up camp amidst some Antivan buildings sinking into the surf. This is probably symbolic, but we can philosophize later: kill the Antaam, then search all the marked containers only to turn up… nothing?

Backtrack to the merchant you spied on in the Grande Market and you’ll find that he’s gone, but he left a note on his stall. Read it to learn the identity of this “merchant” and the reason behind the Antaam’s sudden art theft.

(1 of 3) Overhear some merchants to find out where the Antaam are hiding stolen art,

Find the Exchange Location

Time to crash this Venatori/Antaam arrangement. Exit the Grande Market by heading east, then north, then drop down to some low ground to the east to cross the canal and reach the Antaam Camp in the Heart and Central district, where you’ll find Antaam and Venatori being a bit too chummy for comfort. Punish them for collaborating, then head to a search area on the northern end of the Antaam outpost to find some fancy containers. Read a Charred Warning Note on the ground to learn just how dangerous this Venator/Antaam alliance may prove to be.

(1 of 3) Return to the merchant you snoop on earlier to find that he’s gone - but he left behind a lead.

Fast travel back to The Cantori Diamond and inform Viago and Teia about what you found to complete the quest, earning 500 EXP, 200 gold, 5x Fade-Touched Crystal and +100 Antivan Crows Strength.
